Health Informatics Data Integration Manager

The Health Informatics Data Integration Manager will optimize the submission of registry data by leading the Data Integration Team to support participating institutions in preparing their registry data extracts.  This position will serve as the subject matter expert in data integration relating to registry specific data specifications and data dictionaries, data extraction from participating sites, and internal business processes. This position will work closely with IT personnel from participating sites, registry managers, the support and onboarding team, and the technology and data services team.  

  • Oversees the general integration of data from external (participant) sources for internal data management and reporting (internal data warehouse, RegistryInsights). 
  • Leads data integration team; Serves as the subject matter expert for data integration across all registries. 
  • Works directly with client IT department to develop and implement data extraction query to reflect data specifications (appropriate for RegistryInsights ingestion). 
  • Collaborates with registry managers to optimize data specifications and data dictionaries. Conducts analyses on existing data to further optimize registry functionality. 
  • Partners with registry engagement and support teams to identify technical areas of improvement relating to participant acquisition and onboarding. 
  • Engages with registry technology and data services (TDS) team to understand and improve upon data ingestion logic, and participant user interface experience (RegistryInsights)

  • Up to 20 days per year

Qualifications:

Required

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, computer sciences or related field  
  • Minimum of two years of experience as managing a health informatics team  
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as SQL 
  • Advanced proficiency in both Epic and Cerner charting systems (additional EMR software is a plus) 
  • Exceptional knowledge of health information system design and database management  
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in healthcare information management 
  • Superb analytical, organizational and time management skills  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities  
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, PHI, IRB, and other relevant regulatory issues. 

Desired:

  • Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7, FHIR, or OHDSI. 
  • Experience with multi-institution observational medical data capture and data analysis schemes.
  • Knowledgeable of orthopaedic medical devices and of the medical device approval and post-market surveillance processes 
  • Familiarity with evidence-based medicine, health outcomes, health care quality standards and performance improvement. 
  • Direct experience with private or Medicare claims data 
  • Familiarity with ICD10/CPT codes 
  • Additional proficiency with R, Python or SAS and BI software (PowerBI, Tableau) 
  • Proficiency at interacting with physicians, clinician-scientist, and researchers 
  • Familiarity of the standard style guide along with the ability to communicate scientific or medical information in a clear and concise manner.

This hybrid position is based in Rosemont, Illinois and is open to applicants who are able to commute weekly to this office.
